[This message has been edited by Gordon (edited 02-20-2003).] ------------------Ra1seup I have a report coming up on this castle and can't find any information for it. Can someone help me out, thank you. Levan A rare exemple of 14th century architecture amongst Loire castle, it marks the end of the middle ages and the beginning of the Renaissance. During the 16th century, major fortifications were added, Saumur being a protestant stronghold with its own academy. Saumur castle houses magnificent collections of decorative arts and objects connected with horses and riding.

Honestly, I haven't found anything to start writing my paper. Thanks for your quick reply Gordon If you can't find the history of the castle, try the history of the town, you're sure to find some snippets on the castle there. http://uk.altavista.com/trns http://perso.wanadoo.fr/saumur-jadis/recit/recit.htm http://www.xs4all.nl/~jvddoel/loire/saumur.html http://www.francebalade.com/anjou/saumur.htm#histoire
